Speak out at the Sandwell Summit

On 9-10 July the Sandwell Primary Care Trust will again stimulate thinking in the field of public health and equity by holding its Sandwell Health Other Economic Summit (SHOES) in West Bromwich, England.

The event aims to discuss topical and sometimes controversial themes linking international health and economic development, and is deliberately organised as a contrast to more orthodox events that sometimes miss the importance of public health progress.

Members of the International Collaboration on Social Determinants of Health have participated in the past: for example you can view the presentation by Paul Lincoln of the National Heart Forum on the Sandwell NHS Trust website.

The event this year will feature debates stimulated by presentations by the Department of Health for England and Dr Anna Coote, who has been helping  gather together evidence on sustainable development for the Post-2010 strategic review of health inequalities in England.

The event will have an international flavour and full details of how to register can be found here.
