Win a top prize for writing about health

Are you a journalist invigorated by health issues? Are your articles full of ideas about the future of healthcare?

If this sounds familiar, then there's a chance that you could win an international prize for your work.

The EU Health Prize for Journalists, part of the "Europe for patients" campaign, is still accepting submissions for articles before 15 June 2009.

The competition, run by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection, looks at promoting the Europe for Patients campaign and the 10 health policy initiatives including patients' rights in cross-border health care, patient safety and rare diseases, which aim for better healthcare for all in Europe.

The prize will reward journalists who have contributed in a significant way to helping the understanding of the EU health issues which fall within the campaign.
