Second European Conference on Environment and Public Health (EPH) in Modern Society (EPHmodern)

8 - 10 November 2010

Brussels, Belgium

Europe and it's social and political Union is in strong need of a continuous exchange platform on Environment and Health where both scientists, professionals, policy developers, as well as actors in different sectors can learn from each other by meeting annually. This need can be clearly demonstrated for example on the Climate Change & Health Issue.

What are the EFFECTIVE instruments needed on the interface between science, policy and practice ? Why does it go wrong in (lack of) preventive practice ? What is the environmental health protection in different aspects of EU regulation ? What information is available from other research fields & society ? Is the Public Health system prepared for new emerging threats and climate change ?

The first annual meeting consists of a three days conference based on a triple matrix structure, including plenary sessions, and parallel workshops and poster sessions. Each of the major sections and their workshop components, are rather associated with existing European or international networks/associations. The European S.R.E.H. Annual Meeting will be held in and travel each year to another Member State of the European Union

The main aim of the annual meetings is to create a "continuous European exchange platform" among scientific, professional and preventive fields including both professional groups (including NGO and CBO) and public service within the European Union and WHO Region (EUR) .
