Mental Health Europe annual Conference 2010 "Challenging Poverty - Creating Hope"

During Mental Health Europe Conference “Challenging Poverty – Creating Hope. Breaking the Cycle of Poverty and Mental Health”, the link between poverty and mental health will be discussed.Research has shown clear links between mental health and poverty. People experiencing poverty are particularly vulnerable towards getting mental health problems, since due to financial hardship or not having a job frequently their social contacts are suffering and uncertainty about the future dominate their daily lives.
Experts from various European countries will present and exchange their experiences and good practices how to overcome the vicious cycle of poverty and mental health. MHE will furthermore present the results of a survey that was conducted among its members prior to the conference, with a focus on poverty and mental health of children and young people, women, older people and migrants.
