In Europe lung diseases are among the leading causes of mortality and morbidity. Respiratory diseases result in a yearly financial burden of €100 billion in Europe and are expected to result in 12 million deaths worldwide by 2020. Leading international respiratory societies have declared 2010 the Year of the Lung in an effort to increase awareness of the importance of lung health.The European Respiratory Society, ERS, in partnership with the Belgian Presidency of the European Union invite you to attend a one-day conference ‘Chronic Respiratory Diseases - Exploring Solutions in the EU’.
