ERS Summit on priorities in respiratory medicine

The European Respiratory Society is organising a Summit on priorities in medicine to be held in Leuven, Belgium with the objectives of determining the place of respiratory medicine (practice and research) in the broader context of medical practice and research in Europe and in the world and to make recommendations for the future of respiratory medicine (practice and research). This will eventually lead to a Roadmap of Respiratory Medicine which should contain recommendations and action plans for health policy makers. With this initiative we hope to improve the predicament of chronic respiratory disease in the future, offering specific legal, societal and medical actions. One of the elements of this Roadmap will also be to determine the position of Respiratory Disease relative to other fields such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.
